WAITE - Robert Waite - robert.waite@cibc.com
Greetings, My name is ROBERT WAITE of Toronto, Canada. I
have a query regarding PHINEAS
WAIT(e), born
in Malden, MA July 15, 1749, died January 4, 1841 in Athol (but actually lived
on the WAITE FARM in New Salem from early
1750's -- 1753-- until a boundary shift between New Salem and Athol in late
1820's put the farm in Athol rather than New Salem.) PHINEAS
WAITE married Mehitable FOSTER
Aug. 3, 178? in New Salem. Phineas WAIT(e)'s
gravestone still (as of three years ago) could still be found -- and read-- in
the cemetery in New Salem.
I am trying to find out what happened to Phineas' father, Joseph WAIT(e),
born Feb. 12, 1702 in Malden, MA and (supposedly) moved to New Salem about 1753.
Is there any record of his death in New Salem. Also, I would be interested
to know if there is any information on the children of PHINEAS WAIT(e)
-- all born in New Salem -- Millicent WAITE
b. Jan. 30, 1787; Joseph WAITE b. Jan. 17,
1789; Susanna WAITE born Feb. 15, 1791, and Lydia WAITE born Feb. 1, 1793.
WAITE - Mandi (McMullin) Lamb - justinmandi@msn.com
WALKER/SMITH - Madeline M. Fiske - mgmfiske@aol.com
Does anyone know the names, ages, etc., of the children
born to JESSE WALKER and SARAH "SALLY" SMITH
and the date and place of death of Sarah "Sally" Walker? Jesse
Walker was born 08 Nov 1767 in New Salem, Hampshire County, MA., to Levi Walker
and Sarah Howe. He married 05 Feb 1790 at Medfield, Norfolk County, MA.,
Sarah "Sally" Smith born 13 Mar 1764 at Medfield to Seth Smith and
Drusilla Lyon.
Jesse Walker was listed in the Federal Census of Hampshire County, MA., in 1790
and 1800. In 1800 there were two boys and three girls under ten years of
age, one girl under sixteen years of age and an adult male and female. In
1810 Jesse Walker was still in Hampshire County, MA., in Mixed Towns. By
1820 the part of Hampshire County in which Jesse and Sarah Walker resided became
Franklin County. Jesse Walker died in New Salem, Franklin County, MA., in
1826. Thank you.
